Job Description

Are you passionate about building strong engineering teams, scaling delivery processes, and helping technology serve a meaningful mission?

At Qomon, we’re looking for a Head of Engineering to partner with our CTO and take ownership of engineering execution, technical guidance, and team enablement.

We are a growing B-Corp startup with a mission-driven product used in 70+ countries by citizen-led organizations, campaigns, and NGOs. You’ll be joining a small, ambitious, and transparent team that values ownership, pragmatism, and building things that matter.

This is a key role: your job will be to scale the team and delivery processes, so the CTO can focus on broader company strategy and cross-functional impact.

The role is based in our Bordeaux office, where most of the tech team and our CTO are located.

Your mission

You will be in charge of enabling a high-performing engineering team. Your scope includes:

  • Engineering execution & delivery: ensuring consistent, on-time shipping of high-quality features, especially through tight collaboration with Product Designers and the Leadership Team. Keeping track of roadmap advancement, and reprioritizing when needed

  • Developer enablement: improving onboarding, documentation, tooling, and productivity

  • Operational leadership: owning engineering processes (planning, reporting, incident handling, etc.)

  • Technical debt strategy: coordinating prioritization and execution across teams

  • Cross-team alignment: collaborating closely with Customer Support, Sales, Marketing and Operations

  • People mentorship: supporting technical leads and helping engineers grow

  • Engineering metrics & visibility: defining clear goals, feedback loops, and progress tracking

Who you are

  • πŸ’ͺ Hands-on engineering leader – You lead with clarity, unblock teams, and know how to ship at scale without micromanaging.

🧠 System thinker – You bring structure to complexity, balancing speed, quality, and long-term sustainability.

🎯 Execution-focused – You’re pragmatic and know how to prioritize what moves the business forward. You know how to take shortcuts and tradeoffs when needed.

🀝 Collaborative & trusted partner – You work closely with Product Designers, Customer Success, Marketing, Sales and Operations, and enjoy building alignment across teams. You're able to clarify complex topics to non-technical stakeholders to enable alignement and fast decision making.

🌱 Team enabler – You care about coaching, mentoring, and helping others grow.

❀️ Purpose-driven – You’re excited by our mission and want to use your engineering leadership skills to support changemakers.
